I was seriously going to check out Love is a Mix Tape. It's good though? I just couldn't deal with the price of it.
I got a paperback copy from half.com for dirt cheap. But yeah, it's amazing. Especially if you like Pavement.
I loved Love is a Mix Tape, and this part:
"There is nowhere else I could imagine wanting to be besides here in this car, with this girl, on this road, listening to this song. If she breaks my heart, no matter what hell she puts me through, I can say it was worth it, just because of right now. Out the window is a blur and all I can really hear is this girl's hair flapping in the wind, and maybe if we drive fast enough the universe will lose track of us and forget to stick us somewhere else."
I wrote this part down because I loved it so much:
"But Pavement was nothing at all like we pictured them. They were a bunch of foxy dudes, and they were INTO IT. As soon as they hit the stage, you could hear all the girls in the crowd ovulate in unison....When we got to the car, Renée spoke up in a mournful voice: 'I don't think The Feelies are ever gonna be good enough again.'"
I can so imagine being at this show.
Oh, another really good book: The Post-Birthday World by Lionel Shriver.
my sister went Pavement-crazy after reading the book. haha.
Hmm. I'll check out the books you recommended. Although.. i have this loooong reading list I have yet to conquer.
Half.com is a joke. I hate that site, all I've had from it was problems.
