    Hey everybody, first time here.

I'm an Austinite myself, but I didn't get into Spoon until after they played their most current Austin gig. (Which was late 2007/early '08, someone help me out here) I know they've been pretty busy elsewhere, and they really played Austin right after Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga was released. And I understand that the Fillmore show overlaps ACL, so no surprise as to why they're not on the lineup.

But does anyone know at least how far into the near future they'll come back?

Well I think you've kind of answered your own question by the heavy touring already done. I think the only time they'd come back is for another album. Britt doesn't live there right now so I'm sure it's not a thing where "hey guys we're home lets do another show here." I'm pretty sure after this long tour they're going to settle down for a bit and hopefully work on the next album. Jim said somewhere that they have stuff they want to work on and want to bring a new album out soon, I remember him saying next year but I don't see it coming that fast. I think next time they have an album it's going to be a shit storm for them. Cover of magazines, sold out shows, and incredibly album sales for the band. "Here's to better!"

Yeah, I suppose that's the answer right there. Though I guess it can't be helped. Who knows, maybe Britt'll do another 101X Christmas show again.

Their last gig in Austin that I can recall was during SXSW in March of this year after they won all those Austin Music Awards.

I knew it'd be SXSW. If I had gotten into the band just a month earlier, I probably could've seen the show. But always SXSW 09, eh?

Ed, those might be my two favorite Spoon songs, too.

    Me too.

Shit though, I've seen them I don't know how many times over the years. Never in a place as intimate as The Parish. I don't know if it's more depressing that I missed this show or more depressing that $40 seems like an extravagant amount of money to me. If this nation ever revolutions I'm locking Spoon up in the jail on 8th and I-35 so I can go see them any time I want to.

Drop Dead Ed, did I meet you during the show? Why didn't you say hey!?

Anyway, they usually get a group of songs together on the setlist that they *could* play during the encore, then just play 3 or 4 of those.

That show was AMAZING the more I think about it. Definitely worth the flight.
