I Turn My Camera On. I heard this just a couple weeks after Gimme Fiction came out. I bought the album the next day and fell in love with Spoon. I bought Kill the Moonlight the next week, and have been a die hard fan ever since.

The Way We Get By on WBRU back in '02. I downloaded what I could find back in the primitive days of music sharing and the general weirdness of stay don't go and paper tiger had me hooked. don't worry, though, later I ponied up the cash for the album.

The Beast and Dragon Adored. I bought Gimme Fiction sight unseen (or I guess, sound unheard) on the strength of a review in Entertainment Weekly. I know, weird right?

I can't remember if I heard a song off of Gimme Fiction first or I just randomly bought Gimme Fiction. I couldn't get enough Spoon after that, but now that is my least favorite albums...strange how that works out.

A friend who recently came into "The WIRED CD: Rip. Sample. Mash. Share" disc played "Revenge!" while driving me home one morning- I liked it ok, but I wasn't blown away and never thought about it again. Many months later, a mutual friend gifted me with the mp3- semi-regular spins led to frequent spins...and here we are.

"I Turn My Camera On", through my friend. I still remember it. He said something like, "Hey Gabe, I found this new band. They're called Spoon," and played the song. My first thought was, Does he always sing like this? I think he liked them for the band name.
About a year later, I bought Gimme Fiction on a whim. I wasn't as impressed as I had hoped.
Another year later, I read some rave reviews of Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, bought it, and was completely blown away. That's the record that officially got me into Spoon.

keepon on YouTube dancing to "I Turn My Camera On" was first, closely followed by his "Don't You Evah" which is my favorite Spoon song.

The first song that I actually REMEMBER really listening to... I think it was Car Radio. Around 2003 or 2004. However, I saw them live once, back in 1998 and enjoyed their set. I just didn't get hooked yet. If only I knew then, what I know now...

I saw Stranger than Fiction and I liked the soundtrack so much that I went out of my way to stick around for the music credits and annoy my friends.
to be accurate, I first heard The Way We Get By (piano solo) in the trailer, but the song that made me stick around was Vittorio E. but The Book I Write encouraged me to keep waiting for the music credits.

A friend of mine had Gimme Fiction, Kill the Moonlight, and A Series of Sneaks. One day I was on his computer and I played the first of the bunch, which happened to be "Utilitarian". once I heard "Making out, taking out/It's utilitarian" (the part where his voice jumps like two octaves)I was pretty much hooked. I have no idea why, but that song is pretty neat. And now I'm here.

not turning off. it was a one track promo cd given to me by the editor of a british fanzine called jon doe. i played it continuously until the release of telephono. my friend interviewed britt on the subsequent uk tour and said he was a really cool guy although he was a bit miffed because his amp had either broken or gone awol (cant quite remember). indebted to martin span for introducing me to such a cool group.

I Summon You. My sister read that Stephen King picked this song as one of his favorite songs of 2005, so we got curious, listened to it. We were hooked.

ha! I personally like it when my mom gets a little sloshed. She doesn't drink often so half a margarita and she's done for the night.
