Admittedly, this is not easy. But I would have to say, on the basis of number of times watched, overall excellence and enjoyment: Amelie.

Caddyshack.

Oh man. Casablanca is my stock answer, but a more truthful answer requires a lot of contemplation. American History X? The new Pride and Prejudice? Rear Window?
Posted 15 years ago # -
"Grosse Pointe Blank." It's dark, funny, and has a killer soundtrack.
Both "Amelie" and "Rear Window" are excellent picks though. I haven't seen "Caddyshack" (I know), so I can't really comment.

Lars and the Real Girl and Science of Sleep

I'm big into Documentaries so I'd have to say: Fast, cheap, and out of control, or any Errol Morris film for that matter. Also Sherman's March, American Movie, and Salesman.

Blade Runner, Ghostworld, Rear Window, American Beauty, Rosemary's Baby. Top five.

"The Big Lebowski" by far. that movie is hilarious
. Then really any other Coen Brother's film
Posted 15 years ago # -
The Godfather II, Band of Outsiders, Rushmore and Out Cold. Yeah, Out Cold starring Zach Galifianakis and Jason London.
My bad.
Posted 15 years ago # -
Out Cold is fucking hilarious. I never heard of it till my friend showed it to me on dvd and I was surprised it's not popular.

Stranger Than Fiction. And not just cause Britt did half the soundtrack
Posted 15 years ago # -
I do love that movie, and I didn't think I would ever even be able to sit through a Will Farrell movie.
Posted 15 years ago # -
yeah Stranger Than Fiction was a pretty good movie, i would have to agree w/ revolution that i didn't think i would be able to sit through a will farrell movie
Posted 15 years ago # -
You guys hate will farrell? Anchorman and Elf are hilarious.
Posted 15 years ago # -
Well, our sense of music appreciation overlaps a lot more than our sense of humor.
Posted 15 years ago # -
To be fair, I did generally love him on SNL. I mean, there are few funnier impressions on that show than his of Harry Caray or James Lipton.
Posted 15 years ago # -
I mean yeah Blades of Glory, Semi-Pro blow but Talledega, Anchorman, Elf are great. He was one of the best cast members on SNL. Him and Andy Samberg I think are the classics.
Posted 15 years ago # -
Excuse me. Phil Hartman is the only true classic outside the original cast. Andy Samberg is great but he certainly hasn't been there long enough to be a classic yet (although I can't imagine people will ever forget "Dick in a Box").

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is tied with Hot Fuzz for my favorite movie of all time (so far)
I Say, Indeed!Posted 15 years ago # -
whoever said Ghost World....you are the best, as that is probably mine as well.
Amelie is awesome, but I wouldn't say it's my favorite.
Clockwork Orange is amazing too.Posted 15 years ago # -
I don't know about in 20 years if I'll be telling my kids about Andy Samberg but Hot Rod was fucking hilarious. So far he is the only good thing on the shitty SNL show anyways.
Posted 15 years ago # -
I love Wild Zero. That movie is so whack.
Posted 15 years ago # -
nefarious, Clockwork Orange is definitely in my top 10. The best ones demand repeated viewings. The first theater movie I paid to see twice? Airplane!
Posted 15 years ago # -
The Dark Knight might be my new favorite one.
Posted 15 years ago # -
Good Will Hunting!
