I have to say, I think most of their albums--with the exception of A.M., when they were still a true alt-country band, and the second disc of Being There...and maybe A Ghost is Born--are pretty solid. You definitely can't fault Sky Blue Sky, it's a winner from start to finish. I mean, "Impossible Germany?" Come on. Incredible.

    M. Ward is awesome!
After watching the "All the Negatives Have Been Destroyed" video, I had to listen to "Cvantez." Cliche, I know, but jeezus. Telephono is like one big song to me. I have to hear it all consecutively.

    "Carolina's cheap...."

Speaking of M. Ward, I've been enjoying his side project with actress Zooey Deschanel, aptly titled She & Him.

Also, this great Scottish band named Frightened Rabbit just put out an excellent record called "The Midnight Organ Fight."

I just heard the new My Morning Jacket and I must say I'm a little disappointed, especially after the brilliance that was "Z" (my second favorite album of 2005, after "Gimme Fiction"). I'm hoping after a few listens it will begin to grow on me.

And yes, "Sky Blue Sky" is totally underrated. It's my third favorite Wilco record after "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" and "Summerteeth." Good stuff.

She and Him is good. I haven't connected as much as I'd like to it, but I do like it. I like Zooey's singing better than Scarlett's that's for sure.
Evil Urges is my favorite song from the new album, and yes, while Z is amazing, I think that the rest will grow on you. Highly Suspicious is hilarious. I know alot of people that don't really like it but I think it's awesome.

Yeah, I've been listening to the MMJ album since I last posted and it's definitely growing on me. I particularly like "Touch Me I'm Going To Scream Part 1," "TMIGTS Part 2," and "I'm Amazed."

I've been listening to Coldplay - Viva la Vida. Amazing lyrics I think. The song not the whole album.

I've been listening to Girl Talk's "The Night Ripper," which you would think would get old but never does. Another great act with an album coming out soon.

Re: Okkervil River--I wonder if Jim'll be producing the new album. Didn't he do the last one?

Yes he did! As far as "The Stand Ins" goes, I've only heard about Brian Beattie producing.

You can make fun of me if you want, but I'm obsessed with "Lonely Is the Night" by Billy Squier at the moment. That, and "The Seeker" by the Who.

Right this moment, I'm listening to the song "Dumber Than a Rock" by the Duckhills (from the album Kayak-- I'm planning on listening to the whole album if I don't get distracted by something).

I know, I know... It's old as shit and also very obscure but that's what I felt like listening to right now. Some Saturday nights I just want to listen to early '90s local shit.

One Little Plane - "The Snails Are Out Tonight"
I randomly checked Radiohead's website, and they linked to One Little Plane's MySpace and recommended her album. This is playing on the page, and it's the best of the three I've listened to so far.

I just saw the best video by a band called the XYZ Affair. People should definitely check it out, there are appearances by Old Nickelodeon stars (including Michael Maronna, aka Big Pete from the Adventures of Pete and Pete) So I decided to buy the album and it's pretty good. Oh yeah, the song is called "All My Friends".
