   Anyone who doesn't know about this check it out: http://www.spoontheband.com/vinylgratification/

   I was literally going to post something today, somewhat of a complaint, that Spoon wasn't releasing more. Usually before an album they will have a proper single on vinyl with a B-side, and some tunes to preview. For instance "Got Nuffin" EP and "Written in Reverse" single before the release of Transference. And since they have been away so long, yeah I guess you could say I am inpatient?

   Then this news drops and I was so happy. I have thought about this concept before. Why do people get digital copies for free and whatnot. What about us vinyl lovers? Not only does a band come out and have a resolution, but it's my favorite band. Incredible.

   On the same day they release "Do You" the single of the new album.

   Just shows how much of a fool I am.

   It feels so good to be proved wrong today!

   I'm just conflicted because I already ordered the limited edition vinyl (translucent blue) through the Spoon store. Now I kind of wish I had waited so I can get the 10" record (although it doesn't sound like it will have any B-sides on it, just 'Rent I Pay', 'Do You' and maybe 'Rainy Taxi' or 'Knock Knock Knock'?). Also, it seems like that version of the LP will be white vinyl? Not sure what to do...

   I know what you mean. I didn't order the limited edition just because I didn't really think it was worth it. Like the box that had Tee, beach ball, all that stuff... I didn't really care about it honestly. I was interested in the music. I honestly always try to buy my stuff through my local record store over a band's store/shop because I also get points for the vinyl club at the store.

   Can you cancel the pre order? You could always eBay the limited edition, or normal edition for that matter. So you could get the 10". Just an idea

   I really liked Britt's message in that email. I do believe it was a last minute thing...like, the serious fans buy vinyl. We should be doing something for them. Mostly, I'm just taken with the current level of communication with the fan base. I guess they have a lot more to say right now. In any case, I think this album is shaping up to be one of the best. I really like both the newly released songs, and having heard Rainy Taxi live twice now, I think TWMS (am I the first to shorten it?) is going to be killer.

   It's fun to be a Spoon fan again.

   yeah... as a collector and pseudo completist i'm bummed that this happened post me already ordering the blue version.....but anytime i get to support a mom and pop, i'm stoked. so, hopefully next time. and why not throw the 10" only song into the mix? it'll make the attraction much more interesting. as long as it isn't super limited like RSD. which has become just a pain in the ass. spending $50 on ebay because you were #354 on line in the cold at 6:00am for a record that only 500 copies were pressed.

   I'm thinking I'll take advantage of the Vinyl Grat because I like supporting local record stores and of course to get the 10" (the incentive works!). Then I can use my online preorder as a gift. Always nice to spread the love when it comes to Spoon.

   @JP Yes hi message was very cool. To be able to press a bunch of vinyl and get it to stores all over the country is incredible. And for US fans!

   And yeah you def coined TWMS first. I love whoever made on here GA x5. That is great shortening of the album.

   @robbroncs I definitely know what you mean. Only so much vinyl can be pressed for it to be considered "limited". I just sold a 7" on ebay for about $90. I bought it for $8. I have also bought some stuff for ridiculous prices too. I guess it just depends on what side of the spectrum you are.

   As another note I also love 10" vinyl. Even though my favorite, main, Dennon turntable only has auto-ques for 7" and 12" it will be worth it to do it by hand. KID A is my fav 10" in my collection at the moment. But this Spoon one will def be special to have in my collection.

   So who is doing this for sure tomorrow?!?!

   I am excited to hear "Inside Out"! You can hear a bit of it at the ending of "Rent I Pay", it has an abrupt ending. So I am guessing one side of the vinyl has "Rent I pay" and "Inside Out". And other side has "Do You" on it. Also guessing it's just a white label vinyl, with how quick the stuff had to go out. That's ok though. We'll have to wait and see!

    OK I am pretty excited. I went in to my record store to see about the Vinyl Gratification, and they gave me my copy early! So cool. Have not listened yet. Just a white label, with track list and the Vinyl Gratification logo on the record label. Also has a note about the VG program, and band info on it.

    But I was wrong on my prediction....

    Side 1 is "Rent I Pay" & "Do You"

    Side 2 is "Inside Out"

    Very excited. I don't have a USB turntable, but I use a DI box from the output of mt Dennon Turntable into my computer so I can make a mp3 right away. So I can have it on my ipod too. Very excited to get it home and listen.

    Holy crap Tyler I am SO jealous you got the vinyl already! I'm really hoping they vinyl won't be sold out by the time I get to a record store tomorrow to get it. But in case that happens, I'm going to have to beg that you upload "Inside Out" because I'm dying to hear that one.

    I saw they had a stack rubber-banded behind the counter. So like they maybe had 10? I have been going to that record store and buying vinyl for about 7 years, so my patronage has paid off a bit I guess. In the spirit of the idea of vinyl gratification I don't know if I could upload the mp3 for everyone....... *evil snickers*

    I don't think the band would mind? Or maybe they would?

    I just called a few of the record stores in my area that are selling it and I think the record store you went to, Tyler, had twice more than the ones I called. I'm freaking out right now and I'm really afraid I won't get one in time.

    I don't think it'd be good idea to share a public link to the mp3 if you decide to upload it- but if I don't get a copy of the vinyl tomorrow, do you mind emailing it to me? My email address is on the bottom of my homepage link below, or you can DM me on twitter, I'm "starbright31" there.

    I'm sure the band wouldn't mind if you uploaded it somewhere, Britt himself said he did't really care as long as people heard it. I wouldn't mind a link or something to it, because I already pre-ordered the album on iTunes lol

    If they say it's cool, without being a bother of course, could you also send it to bc104831@g.risd.org? Or you could just straight up upload it to YouTube or something.

    I asked them to respond only if it's not ok No response means it's all clear I assume. Still not even close to having the really vinyl. Everyone should get it. It's a really special thing I think. This is for everyone who is in another country or it is not available in their area.

    It's just a vinyl rip. It's the loudest I could get it without clipping on my equipment.

    Can you try zippyshare? I heard Mediafire can sometimes run into these kinds of problems.

    I just tried it and it worked. Click the link , then towards top of page there is a big green button with DOWNLOAD in all caps. And it says it's 6.96mb.

    And no nothing is rigged.

    Tried the link on two different laptops and two different cell phones, nothing. It might work for you since you uploaded it, the link keeps going immediately to this with "Permission Denied".
