our friends at Pitchfork (which you guys probably already know) gave them it a 7-something...yawn...you can always count on them for snooty comments.

I never believed placing a grade or number on music/movies etc. mainly because it just doesn't mean anything to a "smart" consumer. I really like Harvey's piano on Conan and I hope he gets to chug that thing around in the UK and the North American Tour.

I'm surprised Pitchfork didn't give Transference the "best new music" title. Oh well.

Rolling Stone gave it 3 1/2 stars: http://www.rollingstone.com/reviews/album/31728989/review/31820108/transference

And it looks like Eric got the piano during their KCRW performance today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vi_QLimLGM

I just read a review in which the critic wrote of the "careful ruminations" of "The Wicked Zone", and another that thinks "Mystery Zone" sounds like Wilco.

Just goes to show you that anybody can be a music critic.

Good ol' Rolling Stone talks smack about my two favorite songs...Who Makes Your Money and Out Went the Lights...meh...
and I disagree...the "Wicked Zone" sounds nothing like Wilco ;)

So, I think the Mystery Zone was compared to Wilco's "Bull Black Nova"?
