Well I figure the shows are starting up, so I figured i'd create one thread where we can all talk about our experience at the shows. Post news on setlists, merch, the venue, random sightings of the band and/or meeting them. Basically anything you can imagine.

Gah! I wish someone would post the New Orleans show. I was there but couldn't write anything down! I'll tell you that the set list was definitely different from the Atlanta show.

Yay for this thread! I'm curious about what they'll be playing too. I don't see "I Saw the Light" on any of those lists. I hope it gets played! I'm 17 days away from my five night Spoon binge.

I just looked at the Moore's website and it says that no cameras are allowed--even taking pics with a crappy cell phone are not allowed.
Has anyone been to a show there recently that can confirm this??Posted 13 years ago # -
I asked my friend who went to a show there last year, she said they didn't check for cameras and even saw someone in the crowd who was just a fan videotaping the whole show.

Thanks for the info.......

Hey i was at the show in Royal Oak last night, and I figured i'd give a full report. The strange boys were a pretty solid first act, I'm always pleasantly surprised with the openers Spoon picks. I was already a huge fan of Deerhunter, but man they proved how good their music was live. It got insanely loud at some points and it sounded great. Jim, Rob, and Eric came out to help them play Disappearing Ink, and it probably lasted around 7-10 minutes. It was badass, and I could have walked out then and felt like I saw a show.
But I was really there for Spoon of course, and they didn't disappoint. I felt like the new songs sounded really good live. Especially Nobody Gets Me But You, the guitar felt so emotional and it just tore away at me. Britt also mentioned how they saved us money by playing in Royal Oak instead of Detroit because of LiveNation service fees. So that was pretty cool that they did that for us. And overall i was pretty happy with the setlist. They're always just so tight live, and I feel like they always organize it so that it builds up to where the material gets stronger and stronger as it goes along.
Anyway enough blabbering, I have a list of songs that they played, and it is probably almost in order, but this is just from memory so forgive me. And i think i figured out the cover, but correct me if you were there and think it was a different song.

I'll be at the Seattle 4/10 show, in the balcony (at first I was bummed, but to be honest I won't mind sitting for a show, I just want to soak it in). Anyone know a good place near the Moore for cheap drinks? We got a hotel room, so we'll probably drink there (I likes the fancy, hoppy variety) but was wondering if there's any sort of meetup. PLease don't buy all the poster's y'all, I really want one!
Posted 13 years ago # -
I was also wondering if there was to be any kind of meet up in Seattle.....there's tons of bars in belltown right nearby.
Posted 13 years ago # -
I'd be cool with meeting anybody here at either of the Seattle shows.
It'll be my first time staying around the Belltown area so any suggestions on things to do, places to eat, etc. would be great.

I just read this interesting bit about the Chicago show last night from this website where Britt said:
"I've never experienced sound this bad in 22 years being on stage playing rock shows. Somebody described it to me like playing inside a plate reverb (system). I couldn't hear my vocal or my guitar, I couldn't hear where the beat was. When I said we haven't had sound like this in 22 years everybody applauded, and I was like, "I'm not sure if you really get what I'm saying." But, whatever.
The audience was awesome. They were really loud, and they seemed to be having fun. I'm pleased."
Yikes. Shame about the sound.
Oh and that same site is giving away posters & tickets for the Seattle shows.
Renee @ http://fuckyeahspoon.tumblr.comPosted 13 years ago # -
The Crocodile is usually fun but I don't think they are open unless it's for a show or something.
I think the closest bar to the Moore is the Nite Lite on 1926 2nd Ave. Kind of divey (but hey, I like divey). Cheap happy hour-4-7pm.
There's Whisky Bar on 2000 2nd and Sonya's on 1919 1st--both close to venue...
My 2 cents anyway!Posted 13 years ago # -

Ok - had to edit this post because I think I sold my ticket to someone on Craigslist for cheap... but FYI to anyone who still wants to go to this show, there's lots of good tickets still available to buy to Ticketmaster. I've been cursing myself the past few days because there are tickets way better than the one I'm keeping for this show. :/

I wish I could go to the Vancouver show on the 11th!
Well, I am assuming no one's meeting up in Seattle. I guess I will just hang out in Capital Hill then or maybe kill time at Easy Street.
Wish the weather would be nice but we'll see.
Have a good time everyone who's going!Posted 13 years ago # -
I'm so jealous of all you effers. Have fun, and by the way starbright, that is awfully kind of you

Starbright, it looks like you've met 'em judging by the signed setlist in one of your pics. How many times have you met them on this tour? Any fun stories?
I'm bored today....need to live vicariously through someone having more fun!Posted 13 years ago #
