TRANSFERENCE
Pre-sale is sold out. The venue says they'll be selling a limited number of tickets at the door beginning at 8.
how is this working with tickets at the door? is there a limit? i may be in town for a wake, and don't think i can make it to the door for 8, but i was wondering if there is someone who might possibly be kind enough and willing to pick me up a ticket and meet me at the venue? let me know if this is possible.... thanks. My name is alex.
take a look at this ridiculousness:

where is the fun or fairness in offering a limited number of tickets to a few obsessive twitter-ites who manage to snatch them up a few minutes? the rest of us die-hards need to stand outside in the cold for hours on end, not even knowing if we'll get in or not.
arrg.
i still love spoon, but i'm beginning to question how far i'll go to see them play a show. i used to travel all over the northeast (and even chicago, once) to see them play. it was WORTH it. but when you exclude so many people in a situation like this, their morale gets a little... um... deflated.
Funny, but true about that Blackbook article.
For the show here in LA on Monday, I had to deal with option 1 with waiting in line, hoping to buy a ticket at the door. I got to the venue at 2 PM (standing in the rain) and it was only about five minutes later, I find out via Twitter they said more tickets were going to be on sale online only at 2 PM and no more tickets were going to be at the door. Total bullshit. I started tweeting back at the promoter of the show saying it was completely unfair for them be doing this, etc. One of my friends does the same to get the promoter's attention, and soon enough I get the promoter contacting me directly to apologize and they basically tell me that as long as I wait there, I will get a ticket. Sure enough, about two hours before doors opened, me and about 19 other people behind me are the only ones who were able to buy a ticket there.
Waiting around sucks, but if you want to get into the show...well that's your option if you don't want to pay a scalper or can't find a decently priced ticket.
I can't even find words to express how awesome last night's show was. Totally worth the 2.5 hour wait in the freezing cold. I feel bad for the folks at the end of the line who weren't able to get in.

They were REALLY tight last night... probably one of the best performances I've seen from them. Simply amazing.

Sounds like it was pretty good. Black Like Me.. interesting opener
Nice review, Hippies.
Seriously, how do you wait on line for 3 hours to see the band whose new album you haven't heard? Who does that? I loved that Britt responded, "That's not really something you want to brag about when you're standing right in front of the stage." Haha.
