Just started a group on Facebook to share news and views on the band.

Hardly anyone has heard of Spoon in the UK and me and my mate (Big Dave) are on a crusade to spread the word - so please join up :)

Search for 'Spoon Appreciation Society UK'

    Much Love!

OK. Perhaps I need to get a Facebook account now. I've avoided it as all these dorks at work will try to add me as a friend and be offended when I don't! Also social networking doesn't seem right being a grumpy anti-social git!

You don't have to tell them you're on facebook. You can just make up a fake name, join the Spoon U.K. Appreciation Society (S.U.K.A.S.?) and still be a grumpy anti-social git! Everybody wins!

WIN WIN WIN Situation. There are lots of groups for anti-social people on facebook, which is quite ironic.

    Yes join join join!!!

The more people in the group the more credible it sounds when we try and suggest our stuuupid English mates join up and check them out.

We are on a mission to chart a song in the UK top 40 :)

I'm tempted to join, even though I'm a Yank. I see that didn't stop you, Tyler :)

Well, good luck with the whole getting them into the UK Top 40 thing, Brady. I tried a similar thing a few months back; organised a Facebook group called "Help Spoon get into the UK Top 40". However, it achieved absolutely nothing: The people who joined the group, all five of them, never really responded to the emails I sent them, or never really participated in the little events that I organised. Plus, I don't think any of them really knew what they had signed up for, or what I was trying to achieve.

I wish you luck with it, though. Just out of interest, what's your plan of action with your Facebook group? I'd check it out myself, but I've long since deactivated my account...

Not sure of the plan yet - just spreading the word slowly and then when got a core bunch of people into the band we will start to spread the word . . .or at least try!

I take it you guys are planning on going to the London show? I've never been to a concert in the UK and the ones I've been to in the States have ended rather late most night. Checking the train schedules I get the impression I wouldn't be able to get back home unless I left in time to catch an 11:30 train. Sounds a bit early for a show to end from my experience.

    Do shows end earlier here?

I think a taxi back to Bracknell would be brutal, as would missing work the next morning.

Is there a place to park at Shepherd's Bush?

    Any advice is appreciated.

I have seen Spoon in London about 6 times and have always made the 11.30 out of Kings Cross, but I can't guarantee anything obviously. I have a 12.30 fall back. But I guess from that shows do end earlier in the UK.

Monk: Haha yes I joined. I appreciate the UK and Spoon. Even though I'm not from there. I'm just helping out the group!
