This has been bugging me for about nine years now. When KILL THE MOONLIGHT was first announced, Pitchfork gave this tracklisting:

    The Way We Get By
    Paper Tiger
    Something to Look Forward To
    Stay Don't Go
All the Pretty Girls Go to the City
    Small Stakes
    Where's My Breakfast
    Someone Something
    Jonathon Fisk
    Back to the Life
    Mike vs. the Piano Tuner
    Mary Roachford
Don't Let It Get You Down
    That's Just My Pleasure Bone
In the Right Place the Right Time

This includes a few songs I never was able to find demos/recordings of: "Where's My Breakfast," "Mike vs. the Piano Tuner," and "That's Just My Pleasure Bone." I also swear that at one point before KTM was released even the official Spoon site listed "Mike vs. the Piano Tuner" as a title of a track that would be on the album.

So, what happened to these three tracks? Were they retitled or turned into other songs? Has anyone ever heard any of these tracks?

(For some reason I awoke today thinking of my high school days, and then my mind wandered to this.)

I'm willing to bet money that these were inspired by Mike McCarthy.

I've never heard of any of those extra tracks. You didn't list "Mary Roachford" as a track you haven't heard. Were you able to track that one down?

Maybe someday the band will release a bonus album of songs that didn't quite make the cut for LP status? I can dream (:

Yes, I have "Mary Roachford." I got it along with all of the KILL THE MOONLIGHT demos when the fans put together the second comp of rare/unreleased stuff ("The Devil's Dishes) a few years back. Here's the link if you wanna download it, along with all the other KtM demos included on "The Devil's Dishes": http://www.mediafire.com/?jdtexjmjymu

TastyPrawn, I love you sir. Every time I start to think I've heard all the stuff there is to hear from Spoon, one of you guys mentions or posts something new to look into. Thank you so much!

This is very interesting...I have had the devil's dishes for a few years, but there's still some i have not heard. I have always loved Mary Roachford. It reminds me a bit of Trouble comes Running.

Good to hear from everyone here. No Spoon activity makes me so sad. Still check the site everyday
