Now it's officially up, It's a great album that is stripped from all the horns and mixes. What you here on the album will probably be played stronger with some solo's hopefully.. I love it when bands add intensity to their own songs. Makes the experience more personal.

Cheers to SPOON for scheduling an in-store at Waterloo in Austin!!!

i can say for a fact that the new songs are a lot more intense live. anybody transcribed the lyrics yet?

This made my day a whole lot better.

"Mystery Zone" is an immediate favorite. It's a little sad and a little dark and very 80s. "I Saw the Light" is the love song I've always wanted to hear. Initially hopeful, self-affirming, and ultimately heartbreaking. And yes, the ending is perfection.

There's definitely another level of intensity and playfulness that's added to these songs when they're played live. "Who Makes Your Money?" sounds much different live, so I'm excited to hear what the others are like too.

Can't wait for the tour dates to post!

Spoon is headlining the NPR showcase for SXSW 2010 if anyone planned on attending. It's scheduled for March 17th.

If you're a spoon fan and heading out here to austin, then you should check it out. I'm sure they'll play a special setlist for sxsw.

Waterloo performance is January 25th in Austin.

I really like the studio version of "Trouble comes Running"

    It's gritty and polished

Wow it's amazing. I didn't listen to all of, as to spoil it. But I listened to the first 3 tracks. Brilliant.

This album is so freaking good. Trouble Comes Running is my standout track, but really, every single track is very, very good. The opening track has really grown on me (in the three listens I've made). I concur with whoever said it's "very Spoony". Britt's at the top of his game singing. Really, the only complaint I can come up with is the way Got Nuffin transitions into the final track (the name escapes me now)...that's pretty minor. This is distilled Spoon...the good stuff, straight up.
