I am looking forward to seeing Spoon in Leeds in November and am bringing along a crowd of non Spoon Fans in an attempt to convert :)

I know you can never accurately second guess set lists but what songs should I be getting them to listen to in advance to familiarise themselves with the band?

Any bankers they always play live? Would you expect it to be concentrated on the new material/album?

Hmmm...i've seen them a few times in the last year and it seems like they always play these ones.

    Dont you Evah
    Rhythm and soul
    dont make me a target
    the ghost of you lingers
    i summon you
    anything you want
    got nuffin
    written in reverse
    Trouble

Thats all i cant think of off the top of my head, they do mix it up on a nightly basis though so who knows. Hope that helps little, good luck with the conversion (:

And "The Beast and Dragon, Adored". They always play that song. It's a live staple.

I think they've been playing "Nobody Gets Me But You" a lot, but I'm not totally sure. I haven't been keeping track or anything; it just seems like every time I see a set list the song is on there.

Speaking of NGMBY, I was very impressed by that song on the Austin City Limits TV show broadcast. I can kind of take or leave that song on the album, but man it sounded great at the end when they got all the guitars going. Been meaning to say something about that.

jp, I'm totally with you on that. The song just kind of feels un-energetic on the album, but pretty much every time I hear a live recording of them playing it, it's really good.

I agree the live version of NGMBY was very good. I also love the "jimmy Kimmel" version with the Roots. I loved the recording, but the live versions add something very cool to the sound. I also LOVED the live version of "Trouble Comes Running" from the ACL show. I liked it BETTER than the recording. Sounds more powerful, and the drums sound fantastic.

I WAS however disappointed with the amount of Gimme Fiction material played on the ACL show - "0".
