Can we discuss the unexpected greatness of this month's bonus track?

I was hoping for "Is Love Forever?" to show up as a demo at least so I could gain some insight on its composition (especially that off-kilter drumbeat). I did not expect to enjoy it so much. There are elements of this track that I really wish had been kept in the final, especially that weirdly musical moan-whine (the second one) that happens right before the chords get more intense.

    Thoughts?

I've always wondered about the drum beat on the album version. On the demo, I really like the extra vocals tracked on

Another version of 'Is Love Forever' (Demo 1) is the February bonus track, in case anyone missed it.

Just saw that. Can't believe how different it is. Definitely prefer the final direction they took it in though.

Great Demo. I really appreciate getting that bonus gift along with the takeaway shows. All very cool. I really like hearing the demos. I wanna do some remixes of the song.....using the real track and the demos.....that gives me an idea....

It sure does. What I'd do to hear Spoon make a reggae album. They could do it. Honestly they have no limits.

I love the reggae bass riff too! I dunno who is playing on it? If it's Rob or not, a lot of time Britt plays (played) bass on recordings or demos. But that riff is really cool.

Personally glad they moved in the new direction with the song, though I do wish they hadn't axed the bass completely.
I would not want Spoon to do a reggae album.

Really? I think they have some of that in there music. I love the "Don't you Evah" (Hotter Remix). It's super reggae sounding and cool. I love a lot of reggae elements.
