I think Spoon is one of the most underrated bands in the world. To me, they're second only to Radiohead as the best band in the world. Every single one of their albums is so close to flawless (so freakin' close - there will always be one song I don't love, but still). I've seen them live twice now and both shows were two of the greatest rock shows I've ever been to. I also think Britt is totally underrated both as a vocalist and as a songwriter. I think his songs are timeless, really.

I just wanted to say that. Just felt like it. :)

And this has nothing to do with the fact that I think Britt is sexy. I swear.
(Yeah I just totally shattered my credibility with that statement, but I don't give a damn.)

\"When you don\'t feel it, it shows, they tear out your soul, but when you believe, they call it ROCK AND ROLL.\"

I think britt is what sets spoon apart from other bands. His voice is so unique and so emotive.

You wouldn't think a guy who was a little kid when Beatlemania was raging would be
"GaGa x 2.5" about a band. But I've heard a LOT of music over the years, and this is a FRESH sound, and not a band whose every song sounds the same. Cleverly passionate, genuine, no filler.

I always have this conversation with my friends that they're the new Beatles. The problem that we face is the internet era and the fact that people can download new bands in minutes and move on quickly without having a proper sit down with an album and soaking it in. I know a lot of people who just download all these albums just to be cool and say "hell yeah I know them, they're great" then you ask them a question about it and they have no clue because they're just trying to soak in all of the music they can without enjoying any of it.

    Internet is a catch 22.

But without the internet I wouldn't even know about Spoon. I find almost all my favorite bands on the internet, for me it's a great thing.

It's a medium for all types of audiences. I wouldn't have found them were it not for the internet either.
Manic media multitasking is a myopic marketing mantra. Marketers wish.
Those who do scarf down mass quantities of widely varying quality risk indie-gestion!
We take our time and enjoy the flavorful Spoon! :)

spoon are better than the beatles for one simple reason. they havent spent the last thirty eight years making music that is so bad that it outweighs anything good that they did. i reckon they have more in common with the kinks. evocative and very classy. everything hits at once is one of the best pop songs ever written in my humble opinion.

Haha, give them thirty-eight years before you say which is better! Yeah, so the Beatles (or rather the individual members of the Beatles) didn't do so well in the eighties (and nineties and aughts), but what musician from that period did? Everyone either quit recording or did what the kids wanted. It's a burn-out-or-fade-away choice I suppose. In any case I don't think it's fair to retroactively apply the quality of their solo careers to their body of work as a group. And, as my closing argument, I submit "What Is Life," which ranks high on MY list of best pop songs ever written.

Sorry for the off topic post, but I'm a bit of a Beatles fanatic and I thought I'd throw in my two cents' worth of defense. :)

I Don't Know, Spoon Is Truly Music In My Ears, Ive Never Found A Flaw In There Albums Its Genius, For Example In The Ending Of Every Song On "Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga" You Can Hear The Band Talking, What Band Does That...I Think They Are The Greatest Band In The World Yet they Are Underrated, Right After That, Radiohead Beck Too

Still My Point, The Definition Of Music Is: SPOON :D
