Am I alone or does anyone else find some of the material on Get Nice even more enjoyable than some- or most- of Ga x5?

I think it's very good but I wouldn't compare it to GAx5 because it's kind of bits and pieces and Gax5 is album.
Mean Mad Margaret is awesome.

sorry to sound clueless here, but is there some new material floating around? are these from live shows, or have some files been posted somewhere??
thanks ,

It's a bonus disc that came with early orders of Gax5. Maybe it was pre-orders only? I don't remember...

Nah, I got it after Ga's release. I did order the album directly from Merge, though - can you get the bonus disk if you buy it from a store?

monk: Hey- the bonus was in the copy I bought at Target.
TheDoctor: Good point about the album/pieces p.o.v. Still, "I Got Mine" and "Leave Your Effects" get more reaction out of me than even my favorite Ga tune.Posted 15 years ago # -
It's good that you can respect it. I have a hard time with music without lyrics but I enjoy Get Nice! Sometimes I wish though that maybe they would have kept those under their belts for some good full length solid songs but I'm guessing Britt didn't know what to do with them so they threw the compilation together.

I got the album from Borders when it was still on the New Releases rack and the bonus disc came with it.
I've never listened to the whole thing in one go, and it mostly doesn't keep my attention, but I like the mobile guitar in "1975" and I wish "Leave Your Effects Where They're Easily Seen" had been developed into a full song. Maybe it will be, though - I heard somewhere that Britt described Get Nice as bits of Spoon's past, present, and future.
The alternate version of "You Got Yr. Cherry Bomb" is more interesting than appealing, in my opinion.Posted 15 years ago # -
I like Get Nice way better than GaGaGaGaGa. But I'd suspect I'm in the minority on that...I like that sort of weird stuff.

I enjoyed listening to it, but gagagagaga is more fun.

I got the record version of Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga when it was released and it came with a coupon to download Ga and Get Nice. A week later, my home computer died and I have no way of recovering it so both of them are lost but I don't remember liking Get Nice as much as GaGa anyway.
