White Rabbits supported Spoon the last time I saw them in the states, and they were great. You'll have a great time I'm sure

    Will they add additional dates?
Does anyone have hints on whether they'll also tour in Italy?

I'm going to the London one on Tuesday which I am VERY much looking forward to as I've never seen Spoon play live before.

I was going to be going with a friend, but he pulled out, so I'm going on my own now. If anyone wants to meet up (either if you're on your own too, of if you're going with a group of friends and wouldn't mind me tagging along), let me know - I'll be arriving at the venue at about 7.30.

I'm very jealous of any of you who got to see them perform "Love Song," yesterday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60WoWN0RQ8Y

Spoon were amazing, but I thought the crowd were a bit subdued - when I looked around I only saw a few people who knew what the words were, and about 90% of the crowd started clapping at the "fake" end to Written in Reverse, seemingly thinking the song had finished.

Unfortunately I missed my train back, as the tube station was closed, so I'm now sitting in an internet cafe in central London waiting for the first train of the day at 5.30.

The set list (not in order) was:
    Don't Make Me a Target
    The Mystery Zone
    The Beast and Dragon, Adored
    Is Love Forever?
    My Mathematical Mind
    The Underdog
    Small Stakes
    Black Like Me
    Jonathon Fisk
    Love Song
    Who Makes Your Money
    Nobody Gets Me But You
    Written in Reverse
    You Got Yr Cherry Bomb
    Rhthm & Soul
    They Never Got You
    Got Nuffin
    Don't You Evah
    I Summon You
    The Ghost of You Lingers
    The Way We Get By
    I Turn My Camera On

Despite Spoon's brilliance, the song I've had in my head ever since leaving the venue is "While We Go Dancing" by the White Rabbits who were also very good.

backtothelife, i'm sure you meant that you only saw a few people mouthing along to the words. i think there's a difference. i know that, for me personally, i wanted to hear britt and not some chump next to me forcing his indie credibility down my throat. anyway, i thought it was a brilliant performance all round... a little sad not to hear trouble comes running (?!) but, hey, it's hardly a complaint with a setlist like that.

as for the written in reverse thing, who cares?? listen to the music, not the crowd. come on people, put the iphones down and watch the fucking show!

    great, great show.

    (hi everyone)

It was a great show - Spoon were smoking hot as usual. I was surprised to hear The Damned's 'Love Song' - good though. I thought the crowd were quite good - a bit reserved but appreciative. Spoon haven't had much a UK following historically - it was cool that it sold out this time.
White Rabbits were brilliant - I'd definitely want to see them again. All in all a great introduction to live music for my son.

I taped both shows - I think the sound is ok, so I'll put the Spoon on line soon if anyone is interetsed.

captainbug - I just meant that I got the impression that the crowd weren't the biggest Spoon fans, and that many of them were just going to a gig for the sake of going to a gig. I just used the Written in Reverse thing as evidence of this - true fans would know that that wasn't the end of the song. No problems with the show itself, Spoon were wonderful. And I've just noticed that the New Pornographers will be playing the same venue in May, so I'll be back for that!

Also, I too thought it was a shame that Trouble Comes Running didn't get played, but I was glad that they played Is Love Forever? and Small Stakes, two songs I wasn't necessarily expecting to hear.

I'm just downloading the Amsterdam video from the Dime-A-Dozen torrent site. I think that site is closed to new members at present (worth checking). I'll see if there is any way I can share it - it's about 1Gb in size.

You can download or listen to my taping of the London show here if you are interested. It's pretty good quality.

Oh I've downloaded and listen to your London taping. It's excellent! :)

Everytime I try to get a Dime a Dozen account, it's closed. I think Megaupload has a limit of 1024 MB. I'm looking around for alternatives right now...

Maybe you could record it with a hand held camera, break it up into chunks and then upload it? That's the last resort - heh heh.

www.screencast.com or camstasia studios lets you screencast, and have free demos. Haven't tried it with video yet, may work...
