What a great track, Carrie Brownstein is like, yeah she'd be a keeper

dude I dunno I think he sorta dropped the ball with this band...

Wild Flag seems to agree, they want to re-record the songs

Its not really his fault entirely.... its just a really bad match... he pushes for his pop- feel and it just doesn't work for this band. So much
of what makes spoon work is Brit's amazing vocal talent... and Carrie just can't bring that kind of voice.... Tricks like cutting to harmonies on Glass Tamborine
feel awkward, when perhaps if done in a Spoon song it would be pulled of with gusto.. Carrie's talent is in her guitar work and its
sort of made boring and too much in the backseat by this production.. she needs a more live feel like Sleater had on The Woods.

That said, Britt did a great job on White Rabbits as producer... much better than that band deserves!! But they have a similar feeling to spoon.

It's too bad because its two of my favorite musicians together, and it adds up to less than the sum of its parts....

maybe if Britt got Carrie to play some guitar on a Spoon recording we'd really have something...

I think wild flag comes off much better live:

Good point, the live one is def better. the studio version ain't as raw as it should be, her voice is strange and kinda needs that scratchy (maybe even live takes instead of multi-tracking)

white rabbits are pretty cool though, i don't know if they were undeserving of his talents, i mean 'the company I keep' can go on forever and I'd probably not be bored of it

i didnt mean to talk trash on white rabbits, they are good. I more meant they are a better match for britt as a producer.

i met a girl over the weekend who used to date the guitarist from white rabbits... not that interesting but sometimes i forget these bands on the internet are real people.
