oh holy WOW ... that's awesome .... i am so tempted to come down from RI for this -- i have been loving the recording i downloaded of Britt's solo show at Noise Pop.
any guesses as to how long he'll play? i asked Sound Fix over twitter and they replied that they hoped he will play for a long long time. hehehe.
i realize in-stores are usually on the sort of short side.... i hope it's not a super late night show, so i could still catch a train home.
WOW WOW WOW... very excited!
Hmm. I'm not sure how long he'll play. I saw Bon Iver at the same record store a couple of years ago, and he played for about an hour. If Sound Fix says they hope he'll play for a long, long time then I guess it's really up to Britt to determine.
Word of advice: Get there EARLY, because that space is tiny and fills up fast.
Hopefully they'll post a show time soon.
I'm really excited for this!!
Oh I'm so jealous. you taking a camera, devil? take some good pics if you can! oh, and post them!
I am definitely going to this!
how do things work with this place -- how early before the show will they let people line up? anyone have any thoughts or guesses at all about what time this thing is?
looks like britt's planning a 3 song set ... (from twitter) -- TRANSFERENCE is available now at Sound Fix (Brooklyn), where Britt will be performing 3 songs solo on Saturday (Jan 23) #transference
now i'm wondering if i should make the big trip down ....
7PM showtime according to soundfix website....
are you sure it's only 3 songs? even with the signing they he'll do afterwards thats obviously still extremely short.
gah you're right, it's just 3. What time do u guys think would be a good time to get there?
i hope he might do like 1 or 2 extra encore songs -- either way i'm making the big trip down from RI for this one. wow, is that crazy or what?!
BE ADVISED -- "We will close the store 6ish so Britt can soundcheck and then reopen when he's ready. So showing up extra early will do you no good." (from SoundFix Twitter)
oh ok, thanks a lot for the info
So, it turns out I can't make it to this. I'm so bummed out.
Can someone PLEASE take photos and/or video of this performance?
I got some videos of both sets ... Will post later on ... Britt had a drummer at the hati benefit show and played who makes your money, isolation & I summon you ... I love love love who makes your money... Mystery zone sounded nice too when he was at soundfix. It's 3am and I need to sleep, but I'll let you know when my videos are up. Yay crazy NYC adventure!
lingeringpet, were you the guy with the white camera at sound fix?
well, silver camera, but yeah -- i was the guy with arm up in the air the entire time! here's a few videos -- i've got one or two more i'll probably upload too....

Wow. Thanks so much for posting these, LingeringPet. And thanks for holding your arm up for so long! This is the next best thing to being there.
What other songs did he play at Sound Fix?
Also - I am pretty sure the drummer is Steve from White Rabbits. He joined the band on stage at Mercury Lounge for a couple of songs.
he also played "Written in Reverse" and "I summon You" at soundfix ... i personally find that i only like certain lyrical elements of Written in Reverse -- as a whole, it's not totally one of my favorite songs, although the piano parts are pretty cool. i think britt had fun with the in-store, and i was psyched that he did 4 songs. he might have been a bit tired of being in the city by the time he got to the Haiti benefit, cuz he wasn't very chatty at all (although his set there was excellent and very well played!), plus the crowd was alternating between chatty and overly-mellow. still a great night overall! glad i came down!
