Surprised I didn't see this here yet, but was stuck in O'Hare for a loooong time the other day and decided to get a Spin and RS to kill some time, and was blown away when I grabbed a Spin with that guy from My Chemical Valentine on the cover to reveal the copy behind it had... Britt holding a Kinks record (with a cig in his mouth!). Inside they have a bunch of artists interviewing similar/influential artist, in this case Britt interviewing Ray Davies from the Kinks. Not as long or sweet of an interview as I would have liked, but fun reading to be sure. VERY cool to see him on the cover like that, and I hope it helps them pack all of their tour to sold-out status. Seattle 4/10 woo-hoo!!!

I want them to go on sold out tours, but right after I buy my tickets of course. Interesting how Britt's on the cover. I've only seen the My Chemical Romance and Billie Armstrong covers. Time to go hunt it down.

Too right, starbright, don't know what I was smokin' that day (well, yes I do) but the interchangeability of those two mags made be completely mis-remember which he was on.
TJ.TN- no, that was my bad
Ed is Drop Dead- get those tickets quick, they're on their way to sellout
nefarious- Your name makes me sing your song every time I see a post- "aww nefarious, nefarious - it's enough to have ta meet cha""smokin' up all his cigarettes

I did that on purpose, Gnome. I love Nefarious so...well, all of Telephono, really...

Good to know someone else loves Telephono still, Nef. Still one of the best albums to drive to while singing along. Is your prof pic a 'Simpsons' Tina Fey? Nice...

I WAS JUST DRIVING TO TELEPHONO THIS MORNING AND THINKING THE SAME THING!!!! Telephono is a great driving record. A great record period. Even though Britt doesn't like it that much. That makes me like it more I think haha.
Kind of like Oasis, one of my favorite bands. Noel Gallagher despises "Be Here Now" and will not play any song from it. And did not put any song from that album on their "best of". But it's like my favorite Oasis album!!! For some reason an artists' piece of work that they are not fond of intrigues me. Why?

My fave Oasis would have to be "Definitely Maybe". The attitude on it is hard to beat. A lot of first records are the ones with the most sass and swagger because they ARE the first. And the band is young and the energy is crazy mad. I also love "Telephono". The vocals are pretty bad ass and it rocks. I find myself washing dishes to it a lot--ha.

Nope, Gnome, that is a Simpsons me!
I adore Telephono, no matter what that guy Britt says. What's he know anyway?!
And yes, I pretty much wore out my copy of it in my car.Posted 12 years ago # -
Yes "Definitely Maybe" has huge guitars and swagger. Love the attitude. It's one of my favorites. I like them all really. I've been into "Standing on the Shoulders of Giants" a lot. It has Noel's best songwriting in my opinion. And it also has the BEST B-Sides. I have all their singles. "Let's All Make Believe" "One Way Road" and "(As Long As They've Got Cigarettes) In Hell" are amazing. I think Oasis has the best B-sides of any band. My opinion.
