It saddens me there is little to no activity on here anymore....someone should start a conversation about Spoon!

    I have something interesting:

I have NO girls can tell b-sides. I looked at imports on amazong and for $148 I can get the Everything Hits at Once single. I really wnat to hear Everything Hits at Once (for discos) remix. But also are there any b-sides anyone wants to share??? I have b-sides from every album and era EXCEPT that one.

    Love

Hey Tyler, I was wondering what happened to the group. Perhaps the quietness on the group is because nothing much is happening Spoon wise right now. I have tickets for the November show in London.

As for Girls Can Tell, I have all the B-Sides so I can share, but there actually aren't many:
    Shake It Off
    Decora
Lines In The Suit (30 Minutes Old)
Everything Hits At Once (For Discos)

I think that's about it. Where did you see it for $148 - I don't think any Spoon records fetch that much - if it's a UK release I might be able to pick it up cheap for you. Everything Hits At Once CD single is on Amazon UK for £9 - about $14. email me if I can help out - email on the Discography.

Haha yes see on that page it shows a new copy for $138.01!! Obviously I will not pay that much. I would like to get the mp3s. And eventually the CD.

I lied though, I have "Lines in the Suit (30 Minutes Old)" and "Shake it Off". I don't have "Decora" or "Everything Hits At Once (For Discos)".

SO if that's all the b-sides it's not that bad. I just wish I could get the at least the mp3s in America.

I managed to snag a copy of Everying hits at once EP on ebay for about $45 months ago and Anything you want EP on e-bay for around $30 a few weeks ago. I had been looking for both for a long time. I think if you stay vigilant and are willing to keep your eye out on places like e bay and amazon. you might find those like i did. Good luck amigo! If i happen to see anymore i'll let you know. Oh and you can get an mp3 of decora on itunes or amazon, its one of my favorites.

My new favorite is their cover of "its gonna take an airplane" so good!

It feels that I'll never lose the ability to expand my Spoon library - despite feeling like I had everything, I didn't have their cover of Decora. There's always more.

I like the Spoon forum too, and I would love for there to be more activity. pherron is right though; there's just not much going on in the world of Spoon right now.
But yeah, I'm alive out there!

Decora is amazing for all you that don't have it...

Anyway, I always find that this board is relatively quiet compared with others...
I'm going to create a thread right now...I wonder how many responses I'll get?

    Pherron:

Thank you for the tracks!!! Everything Hits at Once (for Discos) is not exactly what I expected! I thought it was going to be a dance version of sorts. They just took out guitars and put some effects on Britt's vocals. It's pretty cool though. Most Spoon songs are pretty stripped back, and this one is even more stripped! "Decora" is a great song, and Spoon's cover is very cool. It gives the song a very driving beat. I love it!

    Thanks again!!!

I was kinda turned off when bots were invading the boards for a second, I don't know if they still are though.

I know it is tough with not a lot of new Spoon news. But who knows. According to their past patterns. Spoon releases a single, Album, tours for a long time, then an EP. Like the "Don't You Evah" EP. SO hopefully next year sometime we get an EP. Britt says he doesn't write a lot on the road though. But who knows!!!!

Maybe a Telephono and Soft Effects 12" vinyl re-issue!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Just saying,

Some new music would be great, or even a 45 with a new b-side to hold me over.

Ah! Does this mean I'm not the only one who considers Mean Red Spider some kind of weird thing as opposed to a proper song?
It feels so separate from the rest of the Transference material.

Haha I like Mean Red Spider a lot actually! But yes, it in no way fits in the picture of "Transference", which is why it was made a b-side. Although I could see "Stroke Their Brains" working on "Transference". That is a very cool song. I am listening as I type.

Glad you brought up Stroke Their Brains, 'cause I hadn't really listened to that yet. Is it just me, or is the ending way better than the beginning? I don't really care for the first couple minutes, but they start adding in new effects and sounds and suddenly it improves like crazy.

Yes the song builds very nicely. I love the beat, and how at first its simple and then kinda bashes out towards the end. It makes Got Nuffin EP worth it for me. Where as "tweakers" was useless.

What about the Teakers remix though? that is a banging tune well worth getting (just joking!).

Tweakers is one of the only songs I know that is literally painful to listen to. That effect they have where they completely silence the song for a beat is such a neurological cockblock that I start to get a headache.
That song is the kind of thing that makes me convinced that Britt loves doing really random, off-kilter stuff just because he knows he has an audience.

I don't actually have the remix though...

Have you guys heard "Well-Alright" on the Dark Was the Night compilation? That has a sweet beat too!

I don't really like "Well-Alright" too much. It's well alright actually. I mean it sounds like an old drum machine and britt with acoustic guitar. I don't think too much went into that song. Speaking of compilations though I do LOVE "Tear Me Down"

Haha yeah, I mean Well-Alright is pretty quick and simple... but that's what I liked about it. I don't really take it too seriously, it's just a cute and funny song. :)

I haven't heard Tear Me Down, what compilation??

Tear me down is from Wig in a Box, which wa a charity tribute inspired by Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

Yes it's on itunes. And it is fantastic. I love the beat and chugging guitar and a great guitar riff. Reminds me of AC/DC a little bit. Great great tune! Worth the $0.99 for sure.
