How many of you guys are musicians, and if so, what do you play/do? I have a couple of ideas that are based on this question.
I sing, play piano (well) and guitar (badly), work with electronic music, and compose.

I am. I sing and play guitar, sometimes both at the same time (my primary instrument). I also play drums (drummed for a band for about a 2 years.) Also bass, and harmonica. I don't play piano too well however. I just started teaching myself a few years ago. I write a lot of songs, and record. Experiment with digital music too. I have some good recordings, others not so good. I no longer have facebook.

Haha, my idea was more along the lines of each of us recording a Spoon cover and having a tribute album to show for it. Or we could try to actually allow different people to feature in the same songs. I dunno, just thought it could be cool.

Wow Gabriel I really like that idea. We could do a lot with that!!! Should we vote on an album, and cover all of it? Or just our favorite songs?
Probably just do our favorite songs.
We could also send files to each other and help each other finish them etc.

I liked the idea of just picking favorite songs. I would like to collaborate - I could make an electronic track and send it to you so you could record a vocal. Or something generally like that.

Yeah agreed. Something like that would be really cool. We could record tracks, vocals, play around with arrangements. That'd be really cool. Well I love all Spoon songs obviously. Hmmm what would be a cool one to cover???
Fast or slow. I guess we could make any song fast or slow. No limits. Girls Can Tell is my favorite album. I really love Anything you Want. How would you feel about that? It's generally short too. Could be a good starting place. Let me know your thoughts.

I've been working on a couple things too. Nothing great. Just more a beat and vocals. My instrumentation is varying.

Alright then. Based on the vibe you had, I will definitely make some changes to my instrumental part... The contrast of slick soulless electronic music and raw, intimate vocals is too much, and I feel it's the instrumental that should change since there's not really anything wrong with your vocal.

I kinda trailed off of this project, but here's what we had/have:
Again, Tyler just sent his vocal back as a quick take - nothing super produced or manicured. The electronics are all me; I wish I could have recorded real instruments, but I didn't have my mic at the time...
